چکیده
Assam region is mainly formed by the deposit and erosion process of Brahmaputra River. The frequency seismic events results in landform deformation, which highly influences drainage basin pattern causes anomalies, having a subsequent effect on flood distribution pattern. In present study, morphometric parameters geomorphic indices for are derived from SRTM DEM data 30 m resolution using GIS to characterize tectonic activity, turn classified into three activity classes, average classes combined generate relative active tectonics (IRAT). four IRAT defined study area as (i) very high; Class 1 (1.57–1.80), (ii) 2 (1.81–2.06), (iii) moderate; 3 (2.07–2.26), (iv) low; 4 (2.27–2.30). corresponds basins 6. Basins 2, 4, 5 fall under 2. consists 7, 8, 9, comprises 10. Results show that most lies high moderate zones identified consistent with significant faults thrusts basins. approach GIS-based allows identifying deformed landforms resulting tectonics. can also be employed development watershed management sustainable land use planning.

Alborz Mountains is a region of active deformation within Arabia-Eurasia collision zone. The study fault system in western Alborz comprises abundant evidence of active faulting accompanied by occurrence of historical earthquakes. Active tectonics of Manjil-Rudbar fault zone whose movement caused destructive 1990 Manjil-Rudbar earthquake was concentrated in this article through geomorphic and st...
متن کاملEstimation of the relative active tectonics in Shahriary basin (Central Iran) using geomorphic and seismicity indices
Iran is well known for having countless historical and instrumental records of tectonic events. Shahriary catchment, as a study area, is part of the Zagros collision seismic province. This research aimed to introduce a new method which is useful in identifying the relative active tectonic events of an area. The research method was designed in order to calculate the relative active tectonic inde...
متن کاملAssessment of Active Tectonic Status Using Analysis of Geomorphic and Morphometric Parameters (Case Study: West Basins of Kermanshah Province)
introduction Active tectonic studies are one of the most important topics in earth science and their results are widely used for assessing natural hazards and land use development and management plans in populated areas (Pedra et al., 2009, 220).Among these, geomorphic indices have been effective in assessing active teconic in large areas due to their high speed and accuracy (Clare & Pinter, ...
متن کاملSurvey of geomorphic and morphotectonic indixes to assessment active tectonics in Abdoughi area, North east of Yazd, Central Iran
Morphotectonic is one of the new reconition methods of tectonic movements and earthquakes knowledge. Study and measurement of landscapes and forms which made by active tectonics are important objects in morphology science. Active tectonic movements have recorded in the morphology of rivers, drainages, alluvial fans and mountain fronts in a region. Research area is located between 55° 30' -57° 0...

Introduction Paleoclimatics studies can respond the many uncertainties about past climate change; an issue that is being studied seriously in the world but less attention has been paid in Iran. The Late Quaternary can be considered as Holocene. Holocene, which spans over 11,000 years ago; In general, it is considered as a period with relatively warm and stable climatic conditions. However, rec...
